Super Justin Bailey is a homemade hack of Super metroid, only without the suit. metroid X is a hack that uses the Metroid engine, but is actually a completely different game. metroid X is the kind of stuff I envisioned for my upcoming Metroid Clone/editor. The Super Justin Bailey patch is well... awkward, but it is pretty cool once you get used to it. Dload both if you have the roms.

Metroid X looks cool, but I'd be much happier with a similar patch for Super Metroid.

I never got into Metroid that much. I played the NES version until I got hopelessly stuck. Then, I downloaded the GB version and played it on my Palm (I love doing that) until once again I got hopelessly stuck. Am I the only one who that happens too?

Ah yes, that has been out for awhile. I thought somebody had brought it up before, but I guess not. Pretty cool.

The original Metroid editor is really simple, but kinda fun if you get into it.

I saw the Super Justin Bailey patch last night, it looks prett neat.

And today, I played Metroid for NES straight through (original cart and NES), and kicked the shit outta Mother Brain! I got the best ending too, and started over with armor-less Samus. Very sweet game.

They have one screen shot of the Super Justin Bailey thing on the MDB main page I think, but that's it.

Vageta, Metroid X is no joke.This hack WILL keep you occupied, if not by its insane difficulty then by its large and well designed areas. God, it's a struggle finding the freaking morphing ball! The Super Justin Bailey thing is cool as well :D .

The Super Metroid "out of suit" hack is VERY nice. And VERY well done if you realize the limitations and what the creator had to work with.
