Dont you just love side effects of some medicens?

I love listning to those medicine commercials that give you the side effects. This is from verious medicens yes viagra is included...

some side effects may include:nausia (Why the hell do i want to take it then?), sexual side effects (if my penis falls off...), flushing of the face :redface:

less common side effects: tempory changes in color vision (?!?!?!?!?!), eyes being senstive to light, (Dont go out side!), Penis staying erected for more than 4 hours (thats gotta hurt), short term memory loss (what was i doing?), suicidel thoughts (HOLY SHIT!)

rare side effects: heart attack (if it kills me it isnt worth it) strokes (all this to help a migrain?!) Irregular heart beat (DEar god...)

Ok thats enough of that... anybody else love listning to those side effects?

What's really bad is when you see an ad that tells you the side effect but not what the medicine does. ARG.

I try not to take medicine because I hate side effects. I almost never take medicine for headaches, and (this'll sound kinda gross) I've never in my life taken anything for diarrhea. When I have it at school I just hold and hold and hold because they don't care if you're sick. (Isn't it odd that in a supposedly caring private Christian school they don't care about ANY of the students?)

Then you have to take more meds, just for the side effects.

LOL i see those commercials all the time.

and if it actually says what it does - like cure constipation or whatever, it'd say for side effects: recurring heavy diareha (sp), nausea, headache... etc..

Lately I've learned all about those. My mom has a had an episode in the hospital for a couple weeks, and the saying "The cure is worse then the illness" can be true. She has had to take antibiotics that made her throw up, and feel very sick, but without them an infection in her surgery (great surgeons we have these days...) would make her even worse. Finally, the infection went down, and she felt fine in a mater of hours past the time she would have had her antibiotic.

Actually that is almost true. I think 1 company, big of course, is tring to buy another company, big also but a little smaller.

Actually, on the conspiracy thing, I am also knowledgable. I take allergy medicine. Many "new" allergy drugs these days are effect your body exactly the same as the old ones, only the chemical going into your body is different outside. For example, say for the old drug, drug X, the active ingredient is 1. The new drug, drug Z, the active ingredient is 2. However, drug Z is designed so that when it passes through your liver, and into the blood stream, its active ingredient changes into 1. So, both drugs do the exact same thing and that thing is done by the same active ingredient, but its legal to call the drug a new one because the ingredient is different before it is processed by the body.

Why would you want/need the new drug? You woulden't care whether you were taking drug X or Z. But the company does. Their patents are starting to run out on their old drugs, the drug X's. So, they make the "new" drug, the drug Z's, and heavily advertise them, so that people will start wanting the new drug instead of the old one, and when the patent runs out, lots of people will already be taking the new drug, and won't switch to the old one, which will be able to be made by other companies at a lower price, due to competition.

Call it a legal conspiracy, whatever you like. (its probably not a good sign that I know so much about this medical stuff... ;))
