For the not-quite historically inclined, today marks the second anniversary of my registering for the AGN Forums. It also, not coincidentally at all, marks the second anniversary of the first public release of ZQuest (version 1.82).
For a little nostalgia, click here (http://boards.armageddongames.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=9622) for my Obligatory First Anniversary Post (TM).
And in case that wasn't enough for you, here I present you with some of my favorite topics from the last two years.
1) Here's something fun to do... (http://boards.armageddongames.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4092)
In this topic, from way back in September 2000, Dragon and I are having a web-squatting contest (adding "sucks" to the end of popular domain names and seeing what we can find). Zelda64Gld decides to get in on the fun as only he can, and hilarity ensues (though admittedly Dragon and I were pretty pissed off at the time).
2) ¡Hola, Zelda64Gld! ¿Qué tal? (http://boards.armageddongames.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6429)
In this topic from June 2000, I try to start a conversation with Zelda64Gld in Spanish. Of course, nobody speaks Spanish quite like Zelda64Gld... A few other members also chime in. Finally, Rammstein throws pretty much the whole thread into an online translator... let's just say I've seen prettier-looking sausages being made.
3) SIXERS WIN!! (http://boards.armageddongames.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3326)
In this thread I jinx the Sixers, who after winning a thrilling first game of the NBA Finals against the Lakers proceed to go belly-up in the next four. Granted, this topic isn't all that significant to the forums, but I figured over a year after the fact it would be safe to admit to the world that it was my fault the Sixers lost. (Hopefully nobody that listens to 610 AM in Philadelphia will stumble upon this!)
4) The Best of Bad CNET User Reviews! (http://boards.armageddongames.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=8953)
This topic is actually easily accessible inside Ancient History. I must say of all of the topics I've ever started here this was the one I had the most fun creating (except for my General Bitching Shit List, and that topic is long gone). I still find myself reading this whole topic from time to time.
Hopefully you enjoyed this little stroll down memory lane.
To conclude this post, I will continue a trend stated with my First Anniversary post and let you know of my future plans.
Believe it or not, I'm still working slowly but surely on the Conquest of Sarpadia (in between beta testing). Technically, I'm not late, because on the website, I said I would aim for a release date after the next final ZC release (which still hasn't come). The website could use an update though, which leads me to...
The ZQuest Tutorial I will update as I get time. I'm working full-time now so whatever limited time I had before is now even less.
That Zelda Classic FAQ I announced never materialized. However, it may no longer be needed seeing as though Windows versions are now available. Say what you will about Windows, but releasing a version compatible with it has definitely cut down on compatibility issues.
All right, that's enough for now. Here's to another year...
