There is this game making engine called the RPGToolkit. You can customize everything. It has it's own very flexible and easy to learn programming language, and the interface is awesome! You can even sell your games! To help me convince all of you to try this engine, I have posted on the RPGToolkit general forum for people to come over here and put in there 2 cents. With any luck, people will see it and I will get replies.

How big is the program? RPG Maker and its RPGs are too big for my liking.

Well thats because you dont know much of the language. But once you get into it, you will be able to use it like a pro and it doestn take that long to learn it.

Not too bad. :D RPG Maker's 12 MB... and I heard the games can be over 40. :eyebrow:

TK, if you want to correct an error in your post, just edit it.

I made a SMALL one that was over 100, because I couldn't stand the cheap midis and this was before I knew how to make wav files smaller.

RPGToolkit 2.20b is about 4.5 megs. You can get it at:

http://www.rpgtoolkit.com/downloads.html

The average game is around 5 megs.

Nah, you have to actually try the darn thing before you will really like it.

Slothman:

Well, If I didn't, then how would I get people to come over here and tell you guys about it? That was the plan after all.

I've used it. It's a piece of shit (sorry) and not worth it. The (insert bad word here) actually charges for it. Plus it's buggy and doesn't have as many features as RM2k, and is harder to use. Go with RM2k.

well im gonna try it seeing it would take to damn olong for rm2k

Jer, I just tried RPG Toolkit.

Why does it draw a crooked line when I tell it to draw a straight one? And why do the rectangles have wierd proportions?

Rm2k's interface is better anyway.

And I posted almost the exact same post in another thread. But I want to get my point across.

Which rectangles? Are you talking about in the tile editor? Most everyone just draws their tiles in paint, and then uses the 'grab tiles' thing to import them to a .tst file. Dont' give up on it just because you don't like the tile editor. (most of us don't!) This is too good a product!

Nerd Warrior:

It's not a peice of shit. He doesn't charge for it. If you want to sell your game, then you have to buy sme stuff, but otherwise you do not. It does not need a few extra features because it comes with its own programming language. Anything can be done with it. What version did you try? I think RM was better until about 2.14 when it became really versitile.

RPG2K, ALL THE WAY
RPG2K, ALL THE WAY

But hey, I'll try it anyway.
