Is there a way I can directly take atleast the sound from a DVD on my PC? I'm trying to make sound clips from a DVD and the only wy is by having the speakers and way up and recording it, which comes out poorly by the way.

Rip the DVD. There are guides at http://www.vcdhelp.com

Please note it can take VERY long to rip a DVD. For me to rip a DVD that's about 1 hour and 5 minutes long it takes around 5 hours. So i full movie (about 2 hours) expect 10 hours give or take an hour maybe two.

Edit: Since you just want the audio though, it might take ALOT less time. The Video stream is what takes forever.

oO_Oo

Didn't work...I d/led the program and it won't let me cause I probably don't have the latest version of DirectX and when I put the latest on my other PC, it was a 11MB d/l so I'm not gonna d/l it.

Well, you could fork out on a new Sound card - my brothers one, has the utilities that let you record sound directly that you give out - meaNING, VERY CLEAR, AND CRISP QUALITIY.
Otherwise, ripping is your only option that I see...

(Damn caps lock, I'm too lazy to edit what I typed...
