So right... what would ne have to do to get his PS2 to read this version of MGS2?

They got some extras...

Neat extras...

And well I now want them... grumble grumble grumble.

But yeah hopefully it's not that complicated.

It let's you play as the ninja even :|

I hate those PAL block outs. I wish sony never put that in, it'll reduce the need for mod-chips. I'm not endorsing it, I'm just saying, thats probably the only way to play a foreign game.

Ahh but mod chips are legal here in California =) As a matter of fact theres a shop right down the road that can do it =) Neat.

The reason PAL is locked out on NTSC systems is a marketing thing, and to do with the different signal format. What is it you are bitching about this for though? What about europe?

The pal version contains many extras from MGS2 that ours didn't get :|

What about the Japanese version? It was released later and included extras, EGM was keeping track of it.

Ah. Well, if you have a mod chip I'm sure you could play it. However you'll need a special setup to have it display properly.

The purpose of it having extras was probably because of the fact that europe get games about 4 months after the u.s. and most people will probably have a modded playstation and will have played it, so basically were wanting people to buy it so added in extras.

Yes, because it came out later, during the time they spent porting it and getting it ready for europe release, they added extras. If you mod your ps2, get MGS2 from europe, and get a PAL display capable TV you ight be able to do it. :p Or you could wait for substance which will be better and maybe include the europe extras.
