Has anyone played this for the PS2 yet?

That's the main character Rynn, and aside from her being a hottie it's actually a very well thought out and engrossing game to play.

It's an action RPG and I'm having a lot of fun with it.I highly reccomend this title.

I have had it since it's release (back when it was $50... grr). It's a nice game, but unfortunately lacks a really solid story. But as you play you find out that it doesn't even need a story, this game is just so damn fun. Best game of this genre I have played in a LONG time. (not to mention, the chain mail rox :D).

Personally I think it had a perfect balance in storyline... it keeps you going but lets you play the game a bit as well which is something I'm starting to really dislike about the FF series.

True, true. But still, it didn't bother me any. Just riding around on a dragon through all of the different environments was cool enough, as was going around killing various ... things. Very old school. It reminded me of the old days where almost all games were like this. I wish there were more similar ones.

Why you say? Because either
1. Most don't have it.
2. Most people know about this and have stayed away from it.
3. People have the game, but don't really like it.

If ya ask me, this a good game, but a lot of things keep it from being great.
1. Lack of skill customization. Don't have very many points to use.
2. Ever have the camera get stuck behind a wall when you reload your file? Had this happen way too often.
3. In some scenarios Arokh is NOWHERE to be found, and I mean nowhere, and I hate getting chased by draggies:cry:.
4. For those MB conservationists, this one's a memory eater.
Don't let this keep you from getting the game though, it's sweet, and I'm not talking about the gameplay:drool:.

I've never had the camera get stuck though. I have had situations where I call Arokh and he flies around in circles instead of landing. He made a bunch of his smart-ass comments too :D.

It looks good, if it came out on the GC I would consider getting it. But on the topic of story in games, I agree that the FF series has too much reading involved. Now, I like a big story, but one that is told through gameplay, (with you witnessing events, so everything isn't spelled out to you), and with a dialogue mode like Baldur's Gate, where you don't have to read everything (FF makes all the text scroll by), and can bypass it easily.

offtopic:
I just wrote a big reply only to have it erased by server problems.

Anywho, I almost bought this game too many times to count, for some reason though I always got somthin else. Well, while I was lookoin through the forum I came across this thread and decided to give the game a chance (the lower price helped too). I'll let everyone know what I think when I'm done, but not too bad so far
