Remember Howard and Nester from the old days of Nintendo Power? Back when the NES was in its prime? The one that starred Howard Phillips, the Game Master, and a young cocky gamer Nester who was constantly overshadowed by Howard's video game wisdom?

The Howard and Nester Comics Archive

All of the comics up to when Howard left and it turned into Nester's Adventures. The comic went downhill from there, and later really got bad, especially with the art. Some of my favorite that I've read is the Super Mario Bros. 3 one where Howard and Nester go to clean the bugs out of SMB3, and the Startropics one where they try to find a way to submerge C-Sub. Those were the days, Zelda 2, Mega Man, Super Mario Bros. 3, Nintendo Entertainment System and Nintendo Power...

After Nester's Adventures stopped in Nintendo Power, Nester came back for one more comic in the 100th issue of Nintendo Power, where he played Starfox 64 and felt the effects of the rumble pak. Nester had his own game for Virtual Boy (dunno if it was released) called Nester's Funky Bowling. He also starred in Pilotwings 64 as Lark.

heh add the Zelda 2 comic to my list

Yeah, that weren't that funny or lol funny, but humorous and entertaining. I enjoyed them a lot as a kid. I like the SMB3 one because they actually go into the game and then they try to get the whistle (SMB3 was big for me back then). I always liked how they were actually in the games doing stuff. That's the sorta thing, a comic dealing with current video games, I miss in Nintendo Power (EGM is good with Hsu and Chan), I'd like to see Nester come back, but he'd need Howard to make it good...
