Linking to or framing of any material on this site without the prior written consent of NPR is prohibited. If you would like to link to NPR from your Web site, please fill out the link permission request form.

This is such bullshit... how can anyone maintain that linking to their site is illegal?

http://www.npr.org/about

Oooh, look at me, I linked to npr.org...

http://www.npr.org/programs

Uh oh, I did it again. Guess they'll have to throw me in jail now...

i think it meant copyrighted material on their site, not the webpages themselves...

Like image linking?
I know some members here doing that illegally...

If they DO find out, they will send you an email like THIS (http://boards.armageddongames.com/member.php?s=&action=logout)

Well, anyways...:D ...

What if you want to advertise their site, but then they bust your ass for it? Such sales pitch...

I think there was a court case a few months back about someone doing this and the linker won. So NPR probably doesn't have too much of a leg to stand on.

:lmao:
Look before you click, look before you click... Although the disguised logout links are getting old fast; use that one page that crashes IE instead.

I put that there to make somewhat of a point. If they find out, they'll kick you off quick. Yeah, it's a joke, but just think before you actually disobey some rules on a website. AGN jokes can be educational.

i usually check for that joke too... its just that it seemed like an actual link the way you said it..

By now I know not to trust links on AGN. There are links like that everywhere.
Also to annoy NPR:
http://www.npr.org/about
Now DD won't be the only one in trouble. :D

That is one trick I never fell for since I first fell for it in WA. You'll never get me!

Even if they copyright images, you can always save them and host them yourself if youreally want it.

Update: NPR has been spammed to high heaven about this, and has been called out publically on TechTV's The ScreenSavers that their linking policy is, in fact, illegal, as a link simply states that somethign extsts; and that the fact that your intellectual property does exist is not infringing on said property.

In other words, NPR fucked up. Their "Linking Form" page reflects this with a flurry of political tap-dancing, and they are revising their policy.

They had it coming to them; stupidity breeds spam.

How about this one:

They're gonna throw my and your ass in jail now. Click on it. I dare you.
