...good webhosting sites? If anyone remembers a while back, my site got ripped up, so I've been looking around for another one.

I want one that is 100% free, you can upload different types of files (pictures, midis, games), easy to use, and very customizable.

I swear, Webspawner sucks. THe only thing it's good for is uploaing a picture, but you have to use the picture on the testing screen, or else you'll be paying them just to have it officially on your website.

I just tried netfirms (the top pic in my sig is hosted on it - with no anonymizer) it seems pretty good, 25mb for free.

The only problem with netfirms is the damned file size limit.
you can upload any file as long as it's less than 10 megs, but if you want people to be able to download it it MUST be less than 256k.

I use Homestead. It's cool but I just use it for pix so Idunno if i cam upload other kinds of files also.

If you use anyof those, I suggest getting your hands on some FTP program, Cute FTP is good but no-longer free. I use netfirms with Cute FTP. I use netfirms with cute FTP. I wouldn't use fateback as they deleted my user 1 day after I registered

Good idea... doing it right now... *4 miutes later* Holy shit! Not bad sites, but I'm surprised how some sites say FREE even though it costs 8$ just to type in the name of youre site. Oh well. I'll try a good deal from the search.

Start paying for hosting, like you pay your cable bill, and water bill. You can't just get quality services free, and for obvious reasons.

more than likely, a program will have its own domain name... now, there is no real site (for free) that works by linking images... your better off trying to WWWserve from your comp... as long as your not behind a network

Also, they don't allow you to put .exe, .zip, and other various files on their servers for others to download. (I figured that out by reading the whole agreement.)

Pictures are fine, but no porn.

No, there is no problem, looka at my sig, all but 2 are hosted on my netfirms (- the AGN member pages and my spining name). I have had no problem with them so far
