Trans Layers????

I'm having trrouble with transparency. Whenever I set up a transparent grey, and put it on my screen on an overworld, it makes the color fine, but when I move off the screen and back on, they mess up!!! Someone please help!

I have no idea why, but this occurs at random, I think it might be something to do with it retaining palletes from the last screen you were on... but basically, just move off the screen and back on a few times, it doesn't affect gameplay at all, it only occurs in ZQ
