No. Do you have any other programs that could cause it? For instance, Kazaa will give you popup ads a lot.

That happens some time even when AGN is the only thing running, but AGN is not the cause, there are some ADD's that come when windows trys to access the I-net the way it does. I would suggest getting the free Zone alarm to combat the adds :)

the site I think is zonealarm.com or something like that...

Well, most likely you had an open window somewhere else or a hidden one. I just think you didn't notice. I just think this because no one else sees the ads.

www.opera.com

its not my default browser of choice, but its good for surfing warez and porn sites :pimp:

There are no ads or pop up ads on the AG website and forums.

If you are using NetZero free hours without paying the time, it's also prone to pop up random ads every five minutes or so. Sucks, really, as these ads become ther primary window (the active window), and if you are typing something...TOO BAD!

In another beef, they force your sound system to yield to the music on its' ads when you connect to the Internet. I'm on the verge of writing a very nasty letter to them about this. You see, they stupidly provide a volume control, and I always turn it DOWN...

I don't know how, but GAIN was installed on my computer. I can't get rid of it... Do you have GAIN/Gator installed? That may be the problem.

if you notice you have GAIN ads... here is how to get rid of em!

for win9x, go to the start menu, clucn RUN, type 'msconfig' in the command bar...

click over to the 'STARTUP' then scroll down to you see 'GSTARTUP' or something similar... i cant remember cuz i already got rid of the startup prog... anyways if you uncheck that specific box, then click OK or APPLY, you will be asked to restart your comp, and that is up to you...

i dont know about win2k or xp...

I'd been having a lot of problems with a program called "wnad" that wormed its way onto my computer. I just removed it using msconfig (thanks for that idea, Gerudo). The thing was driving me nuts... and so was software that came with my scanner and insisted on popping up a window every hour or so (like I'm going to want to scan something once an hour...)

The wnad program was a fairly maliciously installed adware program. I'm not sure where I picked it up, but instructions about removing it can be found here (http://www.cexx.org/osama.htm).

EDIT: Apparently, this is a fairly widespread annoyance... it's listed in Microsoft's Knowledge Base (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q312931).
