What does IGNsider have to do with an F-Zero ripoff?

Goddamn IGN for locking that.

Here be a pic.

It's a game called wipeout. And as you can or cannot see, it looks, and plays identically to F-Zero. I wish I could get more screenshots, but IGN is gay, afterall.

I think the difference is in the Wipeout games, you have weapons, where in F-Zero X you can only bump or ram other racers. I thought about getting Wipeout 64 one time when it was $10. They're suppose to be good but I've never played any. EGM seems to like Wipeout.
The developer probably based their game from F-Zero like you said Orion.

It actually doesn't sound so bad. I might get it to tie me over until F-Zero GC arrives. I'm still kickin myself in the ass for blowing $50 on XG3 though.

Why is it a ripoff? Wipeout has been out since the early days on the PSX, and they are a lot different than FZero:shrug:

He's talking about the new one. Just look at the screenshot he posted. It just has F-Zero written all over it.

If Wipeout is a ripoff of F-Zero then so is Extreme G and all other racers that involve going insanely fast.

I love all games like that... ^_^

Um, AeroRacers is more of a rip off of F-Zero than WipeOut.

WipeOut wasn't really a rip off of F-Zero for the SNES. It was a 3D extreme racing game with weapons and junk...more like Extreme G. Extreme G was N64's "WipeOut", but it didn't do nearly as well.

Wipe Out Fusion is just the 3D PS2 update. There is STILL no game like F-Zero one earth, yet.

I dont think wipe-out is a f-zero rip off.
Its a good game(especially the music, and over all futuristic feel) but like The Silent Assassin said, it doesn't come close to being a game like F-zero was.

F-Zero is the best racing game of all time, IMAO and nothing can even compare to F-Zero, not even Wipeout!

Bonus points: Name the only game in the serie's that's not called "F-Zero".

I'm stumped.

I also love F-Zero music. Almost as much as the game itself. I actually had my friends who have a band play a few of the songs from the Guitar Album of F-Zero X. It sounded pretty damn cool.

There's only 4 F-Zero games isn't there? With one of them being a version of the original F-Zero on the BS satelite system with a new track. There's also the F-Zero X expansion.

Actually, BS F-Zero was a sequel to F-Zero, and it had entirely new tracks.

It was? Is there a website with info on the game? Now I need to check Nintendo Power...
Argh that must have been the Nintendo Power issue with Yoshi's Island that I lost.

G-Zero. Virtual Boy.

Errr ... it was never released though. Was it a real F-Zero game? Yeah I guess that's why they called it G-Zero.
I should have thought of that...
