My main computer has somehow contracted the backdoor.Latinus Virus. I have been through many cleansing processes and run very good virus scan software. I even went to several Backdoor.Latinus anti-virus sites and follwed exact step-by-step instructions... well sort of, my computer isn't working properly so I have to cheat windows by manipulating some glitches in the OS. However, my computer still performs illegal operation everytime I do anything that relates to windows.

So, it's now 4:00 AM and I have been trying to fix the comp for at least 4 hours. I'm screwed. My dad is going to kill me. It's automatically my fault everytime something goes wrong with that computer.

Well if anyone has any spur of the moment ideas please let me know.

I had a backdoor virus that after many attempts to remove it traces of it was still there. The problem is they write themselves into the registry and unless you know exactly what to remove you are stuffed. I finally found this site (http://www.simplysup.com/tremover/details.html). Their program automatically fixes the registry.
Don't know if this will help but it is worth a try.

Well I don't know much about this virus but most virus screw with your PC by screwing around with your registry.

If your PC hasn't been screwed up for more then 3 days you could try to restore to a good registry.

If thats not possible then maybe you can try to reinstall Windows.

Yeah I know that reinstalling windows is cheap and probably won't work but hey it's worth a shot.

I know a way around your problem: blame a younger or older sibling and say they contracted the virus downloading pornography.

I once had a virus that did quite abit of damage before Nortan or anything else would detect it. I wound up having to back up stuff and format. One of the things you must put up with when you use Windows is viruses, and lots of them; the only way to protect youself from them while using Windows is to have a high quality virus scanner running in the background, I'd recomend Nortan Antivirus.

well, actually I just manually ripped all the crap that wasn't supposed to be there off my hard drive... talk about a long process. Then I deleted every instance of them from the registry. Unfortunately, the virus was well made. It fiddled with almost every system executable on my computer. So now nothing works at all. I reformatted and am rebuilding the system. However, I use removable hard drives. So I have a backup from the 1st of the month. But the internal hard drive is gonna take a little work.
