A few days ago on SlashDot there was an interesting article about making the GameBoy Advance display on a PS1 LCD Screen and a TV. As it turns out, some guy has made it possible to use the PS1 LCD on the GBA, producing bright colors and without pixelizing things.

It looks pretty good. It's just his personal project, so I doubt it will be possible to buy one. It would sure be nice because the GBA screen is so hard to see at times.

You can read all about it here (http://pages.prodigy.net/tan.ax/GBALCDProj/GBALCDProject.html).

Woah, that's really cool. Too bad that PS LCD screen costs about as much as a GBA. But, for someone that knows electronics and already has the parts, man, what a project!

I only wish Nintendo would release some kind of video-out thing that didn't involve taking apart the GBA.

Yeah. Hooking the GBA up to the TV is the best part of this if you ask me. I don't want to hook up a PS1 screen to my GBA, it costs too much.

That's b/c you already own a TV, not because it's cheaper. ;)

Ya DP, exactly. I already have a TV, and it's bigger and better than the GBA screen. So I'd rather an adaptor to use the TV.

I could get a TV for $50. :D It probably couldn't connect to the GBA, though.

Yeah, me too, although the screen isn't too bad if the light is right on the GBA. But it is annoying sometimes, but I've learned to get used to it and enjoy the games.
