No, it cannot be done in window's paint... Get a real program such as Adobe Photo Shop or the free Paint Shop Pro - www.Jasc.com

hehe, I like that, "get a real program", hehe.

I haven't had much experience with Photoshop, but PSP has some nice saving features that let you easily select the type of png you want, whether it be the gif-like png that has 256 colors and transparency, or the tiff-like png with 16.7 million colors and lossless saving (great for permanent and original files you don't want to lose quality with)

Hearing this I am now wondering, what are the limits of PSP?
Namely, PSP7. :)

What do you mean, what are it's limits? The question is, what are you planning on using it for? Once you've decided that, then you can decide whether it can do what you want.

PSP is a powerful piece of software. Though many will say Photoshop is way better and the way to go, PSP is alot more affordable and does a heck of alot. I've been using PSP since version 4, and it's really caught up to Photoshop and does alot of nice things.

You should be able to in the free dl. Look in the 'Colors' menu. There should be something there about setting pallette transparency.
