I use XiRCON with kanoscript 15.
Pure bliss, you can't touch me with it. ^_^
I included the URL's of some of the IRC clients, and I wholeheartedly suggest trying every client. I used mIRC until I found out about the goodness that is XiRCON.
Oh, and these options INCLUDE scripts that use a certain client as a base.
I use mIRC v6.01 and SS4 mIRC32 v5.91.
Also...
I EAT KANO SCRIPT FOR BREAKFAST!!!!

I had no clue there were othering things besides mIRC. Bah, I don't want to mess with something that works fine. mIRC is good enough for me, so I won't even dare click the provided links. My sister tried to get me to change web browsers to Opera. I have IE 6.(something) and it works fine, granted it has it's errors, but not so much, or so extreme an error that I'd change my browser.

I'm not allowed to use IRC, but I used to all the time. I've used Java, ChatZilla (it SUCKS), and IRSSI.

Look under scripts.
And change the font to Terminal after you're done. The one that comes with it looks like shit.

mIRC is the best, it seldom crashes, and is also user-friendly.

I use either the java chat in Windows or Xchat in Linux.
Xchat is actually a frontend to another IRC program(I think), although I can't remember which it is a front to.
I've been thinking of trying BitchX, but haven't yet, seeing as I don't use IRC very often anyways.
