:confuse2: I need to know how to use passwords in Zelda Classic. My password dialogue box is greyed out. How do I activate it, and use passwords? What are some good passwords?

Passwords just prevent anyone from using zquest to open a quest file. They can always play it in ZC. That is so you can stop people from looking at you quest secrets. Is this in zquest or ZC? If it is zquest then you probably haven't specified enough info. Like version and number.

Write down your password or you will forget it, and always make a backup of your quest. Sometimes these things happen, and its good to have a backup.

Take Britannianhero4's advice. I just found a very old copy of my GQ recently, and it came to me that the password slipped my mind.

Thankfully, the current copy doesn't have one, I don't think.

I don't usually password my quests until I make a demo to release, and I keep a unpassworded version that I keep working on.

VEL hath quoth the standard recommended procedure.

Heck, you'd be an idiot to NOT do that.

nah, I always remember my passwords, because I password my quests after personal things in my life that no one could guess. That's how I remember them because they are from 'my life.' basically.

VEL's way is the best way. I remember sometimes when I forgot my PW to LGP. Luckily i had a TXT on a CD which had it inside.

Btw DFW, your signature quest map thing looks pretty cool.

That again. There is no such feature in any of the latest public downloads. -_-

Isn't Link the same one who claimed to have the source code for Zelda Classic or am I imagining things?

Yes, such a person named Link did that.

I'm curious if that topic is still around...might be worth the laugh...

I remember my passwords or make a small .txt file somehwhere on my comp.

I also keep an unpassworded version to work on it!

The "debug" mode might only be for DN's benefit. It might not be on the betas or public downloads. He probably makes a version without that functionality when it gets released.

Passwords are to stop people taking your quest and saying it's their's. :D

Take it from some one who has done it, do NOT forget your password,.

I actually destroyed on of my 1.84 quests trying to remove the password from it becuase I forgot what it was. :(
