I am horribly sorry that I couldn't get the voting up any earlier, but a combination of finals, my ISP crapping out, and me leaving for the weekend once again made me submit this late. Jemsee was the only contributer this time around, but that's the way it goes. I'd like to commend Jemsee on submiting regularily, if not for him, often times there's be no submissions at all. For contest number 16, I have a little something differant. For those of you who keep up with the ZC forums, you already know about DN's plans for a ZC 2.0 CD, and what needs to go with a CD? CD art, of course! What I'm requiring for the contest is sleeve art (that's the cover of the little square booklet) and art to be on the CD itself. I'm not making any promises on whether the art will be used or not, but I'll see what I can do. Voting will be on the Wednesday 1.5 weeks from now.

P.S. - Jemsee's picture:

Sure, lemme whip something up.

[edit] - OK, this is a size template, but it's 1/2 half the real size for filesize considerations. So just double the size, and you're good to go.

Here's something to get you all started:

1200x1200 pixel CD Template for Photoshop (http://www.armageddongames.com/darknation/images/CD_Template_(1200x1200).psd)
900x900 pixel CD Template for Photoshop (http://www.armageddongames.com/darknation/images/CD_Template_(900x900).psd)
600x600 pixel CD Template for Photoshop (http://www.armageddongames.com/darknation/images/CD_Template_(600x600).psd)

These are for the CD label itself. They include blackout portions so you can see how the CD will look once you get the art on it. For the CD case insert, just turn off the blackout portions and create something new in the square area left behind. Open one of the templates in Photoshop (or Paint Shop Pro, I think) and you will see what I mean. The larger template you can use, the better (if I include these on the CD, I'll include smaller versions, too, but I need a large one to start off with).

Personally, I think the contest should be longer and posted in ZC Discussion as well. Savior?

Very nice, DN. Very nice indeed. Posting it in ZC discussion won't be a problem, and making it longer might be a good idea, also. I suppose and extra week wouldn't hurt, if I posted a regular contest next wednesday...

Either E-mail or PM me the URL of your pic, and I'll host'em. Good luck to all participants, and happy Photoshopping!

Damn straight you don't have time to learn it, you're supposed to be working on my sprites right now! ;) PSP really isn't too hard to learn, most everything that you need is self-explainitory.

Ok... fooling with pics is one thing but making a picture?
Are there any extra rules as in copyright rules?
Can we take existing pics and make a collage like thing or does all this have to be original work?
And to show more stupidity, I take it that ZC 2.0 is being made for relised on a CD. Is there a thread or link to get more info. on this?
Thanks
I have not been into the ZC forums since I first registered.

I see that you've found the thread, Jemsee, but for future referance, here (http://boards.armageddongames.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=57296) is the thread with the CD info.

Also, if you are using the templates I've provided, please keep a copy of your final product and don't merge the layers. This way, I can turn off the center hole so it will print properly on CD labels that have different-sized holes, especially if you print is slightly larger than the CD to make sure it covers completely. If you don't understand what I am talking about, don't worry about it. Just make sure you don't merge the CD hole layer with any other layers and you should be fine.

So you basically want the CD cover and back and the actually CD label? I have Adaptec software. Piece of Cake...and I can even go so original by making my own custom Zelda Classic art...

DN, are you saying that you might use what is under the hole layer? Because there's alot garbage under my hole that I thought wouldn't be used..
