View Full Version : Can I use FTP in Geocities?

As the title says, can I use my FTP client to upload files to geocites? if so, could you tell me how because I have been having trouble with it and if not, could you point me in the directon of something free that give me FTP access.

I found one that says you can use FTP but it is FUBAR.
Any help is apreciated(sp?) thnx.

server ftp.geocities.com

use your account name and password to log on.

Actually, I read recently that it was being disabled. If this was true, you now have to upload directly through the site. And you are limited to 1 MB per file.

Yeah, Yahoo is stripping all their free services, like POP3, FTP, etc. and making you pay for them.

fmeh: of course. But needless to say, if you are going to ask people to pay for something, all they have to do is find another free site, or - even better - get their own Web domains. :D

Eventually all the free stuff won't be free anywhere I guess. If a couple of major free hosts start doing stuff, the rest follow.

Thanks, I hope it is still up...then I can put all of my crap up and not bother anyone untill I share it... :D


EDIT - DAMN, I think it has already been diasbled... are there any other FREE FTP ones out there?

Yes I know I'm keep asking for free stuff but I'm broke...:(
