OK, I've got most of SSBM unlocked (except for the trophies). The only characters I haven't unlocked are -=SPOILER=- Anyway, I'm doing the Event Mode events, and I ran across one I can't seem to figure out how to complete. I don't remember what number it is, but it's name is "Ice Breakers", and it's description is "Your cold mission... is to KO both Nanas". Here's what I've done:

1) OK, at first, I thought it was going to be easy. I picked my fast KO expert at the time, and let loose on the first group of Ice Climbers. 30 seconds later, one KO, FAILURE. I was like what???

2) With Captain Falcon, I tried separating one of the Ice Climbers from the other. KOed the blue one, FAILURE. What???

3) Much later, came back with a new KO specialist. I quickly KOed the pink Ice Climber in one group, and after many retries was able to KO the second pink Ice Climber. No "SUCCESS" message. Time ran out, FAILURE. What???

I really don't know what to do. My only guess is I have to double KO both climbers at the same time, but I don't know if that will work. When you KO a character, it tends to pick a random direction for them to go (hit the screen, hit the side, star KO, etc.), so if I do manage to get them both in the same spot and KO them, they'll possibly not KO at the exact same time, and when I KO the blue Ice Climber, it's an instant FAILURE. What on Earth do I have to do?

No, no. You have to kill BOTH Nanas. There are two sets of Ice Climbers in the match. You must kill the Nana in each set. It doesn't have to be at thew same time, but you must kill both before the time runs out.

I could've sworn I did that already and nothing happened... Although I think it was a star KO on the second one, and it hadn't quite finished yet, so that may be the problem. I'll work on it again later. Thanks.

A good way to unlock players that require a ime spent playing type deal is to set up a 99 stock inf time mellee...

Even if theyre only comps playing each other it will count towards time played... or at least that's how we did it.

If you have a second controller, just set up a 1 stock inf time melee with both players, and leave the 'cube running overnight. In the morning, just KO one of the players, and there you go.

Bah. That's cheating. I'm trying to do it for real, and I figure 20 hours of gameplay will make me have wicked skillz. :D

Actually, the fastest way to get Mewtwo while 'not cheating' is to whoops your friends (perferably 3 friends) asses. The time spent on SSB:M is counted per controller, so two players playing 10 hours together equals one player playing twenty hours by himself.

Besides, after a while you begin to recognize the computer's tactics, and then the comp's not a challenge (even at level 9) anymore. However, your friends can pull out battle-strategies from thin air and whomp you with them, so there's always something new to do with a real Player 2 (or 3, or 4).

Actually you got it wrong .... there are 3 pairs of ice climbers. Right?!?!?!? I can't remeber I haven't done that in a long time. Or maybe you KO the second one right before it saud FAILURE and she never got KO'ed?

OK, I finished the event. Apparently, the first time I did it, time ran out just before the second Nana was KOed. I find it annoying that a star KO takes so long to count, I've lost many timed stock battles because the timer ran out before the KO finished and I had to go into sudden death.

I'm buying a second controller tomorrow; one of my best gaming friends is coming visit from TX, and I imagine we'll be able to put a good 3-4 hours on it together, which would put me oh-so-close to Mewtwo.
