I am new here and I need help. In Zelda Classic how do you change the screen size. It has something to do with command lines, but I don't know anything else.

I think the only way is to change your computer's resolution.

no, I read it's possible to change the screen size in the readme, but it didn't go into that much detail.

You could change the screen size (resolution) of Zelda Classic in DOS in 1.84, but I couldn't get it to work in 1.90. Bascially instead of using 320x240, you can change it to display in 640x480 for example.

You have to edit these lines in the file ag.cfg

resx = 320
resy = 240
sbig = 0

So if you wanted 640 x 480
resx = 640
resy = 480

Make sbig = 1 if you want the screen to be bigger.

I'm not really sure if there's much of a difference and if its worth it to raise the resolution though.

Unfortunately this doesn't work in v1.90. It must have been disabled because each time you change the file and run ZC it changes back the settings to what they originally were.

well, that isn't much use. I just hope they either fix this in the next update (and bring it out quicker) or someone finds another way to fix this

Please try not to double post... Use the edit button at the bottom of your post. :)

And what do you need help with? The only solutions (so far) are said above for the resolution.

yeh, but they don't work...

Why do you need to change the resolution of Zelda Classic if your using the dos version beyond 320x240 when its full screen?

because its TOO big. everything looks way too blocky and horrible (not that the original game wasn't blocky, but this makes it much more blocky)which makes it virtually unplayable for me.

:glare: Unless you know something I don't, that isn't rent-a-mod, that's a friendly reminder, seeing as it does get annoying sometimes.

Maybe the Windows version of the latest public beat release build will work better? How big is your monitor that the graphics are too blocky?

That is rent-a-mod.

The posts were far enough apart to warrant a double-post, IMO. It wasn't 24 hours, but sometimes, topics DO get buried with unanswered questions.
