Message Strings

I dont think so I'm afraid, but you can change the color In Quest > Misc Data > Misc Colors

Actually IW, that only changes the color of the text in the subscreen. The color of the messages you see during the game is fixed to one particular entry in one of your csets and can't be changed. Anyone know offhand which palette entry that is?

So, if anyone can tell you which palette entry it uses, you can always go edit that particualr color to get the text to look how you want it to.

Well, in Misc Colors menu, there are 2 entries at the top:
Text and Caption.

Text CHANGES the color of the strings! I have done it!
Caption CHANGES the color of the captions (e.g. Life above your hearts)

Please don't tell me this isn't true, because I have done it!!

I don't know what you've been smoking, but it does not work. It changes the text for the displays that show how many rupees you have and the like, but text messages are fixed on cset 0, color 1.

Just read the help file (F1) it menchions which color # is used for text if i rember correctly.
(Sorry if it doesn't work this way)

no it dosn't DragonFang, it uses the 1st non clear color of CSet 1, foun that out myself!

I swear I have used another color to turn the text darker.
