I think that as perk of being a mod, you should get CA and CT. Doesn't affect me, but would be an extra something cool for mods under 1k posts.

umm you do you ccan change your own custom title but you ahve to wait to 1k to change your avatar by yourself an admin has to do the avatar for you if your under 1k

Yup, as Mr. Cow said, mods get these things already. (If a mod has under 1000 posts, though, they have to ask an admin to change their avatar. Probably because it'd be a pain to special-case mods with under 1000 posts.)

In practice, it doesn't matter that often because most moderators have 1000 or more posts. It does come up a little more frequently with hosted forum mods, though.

Not really... before the upgrade, it was standard that all moderators (even Hosted Forum Moderators) could change their own avatar.

I think you had 3oo or 400 posts when you became a KTC mod, so this would benefit the hosted forum mods. I've never been a mod, so I don't really know about any of the stuff.

Thats another thing I have never understood....why do we have to have a high post count to get custom avatars?

Because it's the rules, okay? Quit questioning them, jeez.

To have a reason to post well and often. Of course some people just do the "often" part and get banned for spamming.
P.S. So since I have over 1K posts I get California(CA) and Connecticut(CT) as rewards.

Its a throwback to the days of unregulated avatars. Custom avatars had to be manually monitored by admins for people breaking the size limits, and I guess admins got tired of having to deal with grossly oversized avatars. So public ones were put in place. 1000 posts then seemed like a post count of relatively few members, so it determined that they could have custom avatars.

Theres an automatic limit now on custom avatars that prevents people from using something horrid, like 1000x500 pixel sized avatars, so the 1000 post requirement is needless now. The only thing admins would be needed for is to keep members from using images that are against forums rules.

Although they made it 1k to get a CA because of the people who made them to big alot of people have 1k anyway. Whatcha ya gonna do though? Oh, well the people who have them probably well deserve them and have worked hard for them.

It's a sign that the person is mature enough to choose an avator that isn't offensive and/or disgusting...

Don't look at me like that Meta...

And if they spam to get to 1,000 they will most likely have gotten in trouble for something else first.

I can vouch that that's been in effect since the 1000 posts-for-avatars rule has existed.

And, actually, you weren't allowed to choose your own title until some point between Febuary 2001 and June 2001.

Also, sub-administrative members were unable to change this on their own until the switch from UBB to VB.
