Since I have to start over from scratch, should I A) upgrade my computer to a more moder one B) Get a new uptodate one and use the old one for school work C) Just deal with the year old one.

Also I need to know what would be more expensive updating or a new one.

My friend has an awesome computer and it was only 2000 but he said upgrading my computer to how good his is would cost a lil over 2000.

Depends on how much $$$ you have.
If you have 2000 sitting around-go for A.
Otherwise, Id go for C.
Youll live.:)

A new computer for $2000? What a rip off. You can get a top of the line computer from Dell for under $800.

Besides, what's wrong with your current computer? If it does what you want, why upgrade? I mean, upgrading to a newer Windows won't help in the virus protection department that much.

If you do chose to get a new computer, let me know the kind of stuff you want in it, and where you're looking to buy it from. I can let you know if you're getting a good deal.

How fast is your current one?

I recently built a 950 mhz computer. It's got the same hard drive, memory, sound card, and case that my old 300 mhz had. I dunno how much it cost all together, it's been way over a year since I built the 300 mhz.

Now there's a great computer for a small amount of money. Why is it so cheap? Because it has no OS on it, meaning the OEM(Microtel in this case) does not have to pay royalties for it; which translates into savings.

And if you can't afford it then put up with your present PC.

Oh an btw- I have heard nothing but good things about Microtel PCs.

If your PC is only a year old I'd keep using it.
If you want to upgrad somthing see if it can handle a larger CPU.
Or more memory, or a new hard drive.
Don't ditch the one you have just make it better.
I'd need more info. on what you have now, to make any concret suggestions.
