this thread will deal with reviewing and discussing the QUALITY, QUANTITY, and VARIATION of the avatar system.

the poll goes by: (for each of the 3 above, 6 possible ways to cast your final vote)
1. utmost importancy
2. middle importancy
3. least importancy

is anyone having trouble with im not saying quality, but the VARIATION of the 1210 avatars over their quantity? i think there isnt enough variation in the subject matter of the avatars.
too much was put into QUANTITY. their QUALITY is very good for about 97% of them... but their VARIATION in subject matter i find really low.

thats my review. what are yours?

I personally feel public avatars are a waste...that only custom avatars should be used...to make getting a custom avatar all the more rewarding.

I agree with you, there's too damn many but not enough variation... just look at how many SSBM avatars there are! There's ones where there's 10 copies of a single character. Just not enough variety.

link 101, based on the three categories how could the public avatar system be more usefuul?

edit: i was pleased with the dancing 'happy leprechaun' because it came out of nowhere and nothing was likee it :D there should be ones that come out of nowhere like that :)

Nothing. Quality's great. But if someone really wants, say, a Sonic avatar, they probably don't care how great a thousand SSBM avatars are...

People, you do know you can submit avatars to be used to an admin such as Shadowblazer or War Lord? 150X150 pixels MAX, and 20 KB MAX. If they feel it is worthy of being an avatar, it shall be added...

I think it should be:

Variation. What if we all had link, just in different positions. AGN would be a lot more dull..a good selection is needed most.
Quality. If someone draws a stick figure and uses it as their avatar, fine with me, I don't care, but there should be a good selection of nice avatars as well as the craptactular ones..
Quanity. If there were 20 avatars that were public, there would be lots of confusion. This is important (if not higher than Quality) Infact, I think it should be higher than it. I don't care what other ppl use for their avatar, use what they want..

I think it's good to have a few different versions of the same character. I mean, not everyone is going to like a certain pose or something. And besides, let's say we only had one Link avatar. There would be a ton of ppl using the same damn Link avatar and it would get confusing :D

yea, uh huh... i did that awhile ago, and all i got was "you suck" or "these suck" and "i hate these"... they were added, but nobody liked 'em... oh well, i found te hone i want, and i claim it as mine, so if you see another Keitarou avatar here, know that I HAD THIS FIRST!!!! :laughing: :D

The quality of most current Aves are great. Whoever did them did well.
But I don't recall anyone using a WarCraft Ave recently. Perhaps just a few of say the heros, same with the StarCraft.
So more of somthing Completly different, but less of the same theme.
I think I'm using a Magic card, I belive it's the only one.
