i haven't made a quest for such a long time, but now i am back in the business again. I have a playstation 2, and i bought myself a copy of MGS2. in my opinion it is the greatest game ever, so i came up with the idea of making a metal gear quest. sure it will have its limitations, being on the zelda engine, but it should still be great. i will release a demo after i do the first level. the game's main point will be stealth, but weapons will be available. also, i will make the quest in 5 different difficulties. this project will take some time, but hopefully i can stay dedicated to it, and hopefully it actually works out the way i plan. i will try to update everybody on this quest as it progresses.

Well, your idea isn't very creative- someone's already working on that. Darth Cronic already has a full Metal Gear tileset based on the NES games, I believe, and he's been playing with the idea of making a quest for some time now.

well i figured someone was already doin one, but i havent been here since during the summer. i still want to do this project becuz i love metal gear, so dont try to tell me i aint being creative. i dont care. how many people have made zelda quests? does that mean that they weren't being creative? and i highly doubt my story line will be anything similar to a quest anyone else makes.

I agree, just because someone else had a similar idea is no reason to call it uncreative, and no reason for you not to go ahead with it. It's an ambitious project, good luck!

yup, besides, it's pretty hard to be really creative these days because of all the quests that are already out there. Goodluck on your MG quest

Kinda makes me feel so much better that I'm doing something that's never been done before... to my knowledge anyway...

if you are willing to give it a serious go I would be willing to callaberate on this. check the post screens thread here and you can see a bit of what I have in the way of a set. I would loove to see someone build an actual quest with em ;)

Edit: I dug up the pics for you.

DC, instead of using the Gameboy's title screen, why don't you try getting an up-to-date picture of snake and applying the NES palette to it, or perhaps reducing the color palette of one to two colors with Error Diffusion.

Pretty nice NES-like effect is the result.
