While I wait for bug reports on DoY, I've started tinkering with SD2 and 3 tiles. I'd really like to get ahold of your tiles, Warlock, but in leiu of that I'm marching ahead with making my own useable SD tiles. Here's what I've done so far..

Outdoor forest tiles...

Heres some indoor stuff..

The more I mess with these tiles, the more I think I'd really like to do a quest using FF2, FF3, SD2, SD3, and CT tiles. I've even got an amusing premise I could work with... but I'm not gonna bore you with silliness like that.

Warlock, Plith, GuitarmanTim... can I collaborate with you guys in creating this Tileset to End All Tilesets? As I hope the screenshots above show, while I'm not as skilled as you folks in ripping tiles or setting up pallettes, I'm not too shabby. I wanna learn from the masters :grad:

In particular, there are times when I rip from a 256 bitmap taken from ZSNES, and pixels that are different colors in the file end up all the same color in ZC. And the Cset I use for them has NO colors that are the same. What's ZC doing here? This is what happened to the SD3 mountian tiles you see in the screens- they dont look all pretty and varied like Warlock's because they refused to rip in a form I could recolor.

So guys, I'd love to work with you. Please consider that ;)

I'm in :). Lemme tweak what I got now for a bit more though. I'll send you some stuff in a while.

Excellent. What I'm thinking is that using Plith's FF3 overworld tiles, Warlock's SD tiles, and your CT tiles as a start, we could put together something truly spectacular. It would be the perfect backdrop to make an RPG-type quest, using the overworld tiles as... well, as overworld, and the SD and CT style tiles as the locations.

Currently, I'm just tinkering with tiles and pallettes, but if we joined forces I'd be more than willing to help you folks finish up your tilesets in the process. I'm playing through SD3, and I've been exhaustivly taking screens as I go to rip from. So... let me know what you guys want or need. I dont wanna do something you've already accomplished.

I don't have the time, but you are certainly free to use my tiles if you wish :)

Warlock, is there some place you could shoot those over to me?

I'm also interested to know how you managed to rip the pallette so perfectly- since Zquest gives you a bunch of garbage pallettes when you try to rip. I managed to make some makeshift tiles (Above) by eyeballing it, but even that doesnt help when Zquest fucks up the color data while importing... suggestions?
