Just wanted to inform you all that Glenn and I have talked and I will now be assisting him in the process.

Currently most of the overworld is present as are sprites (normal not expanded enemies) the main things missing are Dungeons, and other special buildings like like dungeon entrences and such. So I will be adding those in as I come across em.

Caves and houses are currently present, and I'm remaking the 1st quest with them and it's coming along nicely. I'll post some screens from that in a little bit actually, but I want to help Glenn to ensure that this set makes it inrto the next release of ZC. If you have any of these special entrences or oter tiles you'd like to contribute by all means feel free to help out ;)

Also I'm wondering if anyone has attempted to make dungeon tiles converted from the oracle series... theirs don't fit ZC so they will need some work for sure.
Any questions?

DC, why don't you just use another sets dungeon tiles? Or is the set completely gbc?

I'll probably be able to help some. I already helped glenn with dungeon tiles a while back. I e-mailed them to him after we had a little chat and he agreed on my help, but I never really heard anything from him after that so I stopped ripping. I'm happy to help out again though (yes, I know how the csets/palletes in Dboy work DC ;) catch me on AIM sometime)

Heh, are they going to be combo-page less since the newer versions of ZQuest won't have combo pages?

Question: How will you work without combo pages??

One huge combo page that you keep scrolling down.......and down...and down...and down.......:D

Makes it good if you're using a set like the R2 set..

What build is the infinite combo page in?

No public builds, yet. Only the beta testers have builds without combo pages, I think.

What's the problem with the dungeon tiles? Are they too small for zquest or somthing? Maybe the graphics have to be extracted some other way, try romview or tilelayer on a chr dump.

The wall tiles are one tile thick rather than 2. So to make an exact set of them Zequest compatible would and will be impossible.

*ahem* could but isn't impossible! have the walls the inner tiles and have the tiles that are solid colored like the walls the outer tiles, I've done it before

If you do go the way of having special 2-tile thick walls...it'd be nice to have the original ones too. I, for one, almost always use caves, now that we have layers...so I wouldn't have so much of a problem with them not fitting the ZC dungeon conventions.

I just took a look at the dungeon graphics that was dumped. You would defiatly need to mess arround witht the tiles. If the wall tile is only one tile thick(half of a ZC tile?)then you just copy, move, and overlap. It might take some work, but it can be done. I don't think the graphics for LA dungeons are stored in one ZC tile sizes(a zc tile is equal to four game tiles, like a set of stairs or a pot. Some tiles are all stored in sequence so you need to do some massive copying.).

EDIT: nevermind.
