I used to play a game on the NES...It was kind of a space shooter game, and it was really weird, and really hard. When you died, some creepy, big haired gypsey lady came up on the screen to give you continues...does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Sounds like life force, but there was no old lady.

More info? like powerups or game engine?

It's not Life Force and I don't think Gradius would have a old lady in the game over screen. (edit sorry nm, thought you said it may be Life Force) The game doesn't ring a bell for me.

Are you sure it was a space shooter? I remember a space-themed pinball game that had that old lady like you discribed. Forgot what it was called though.

The only other "space" shooter I can think of right off, other than the ones previously mentioned, is Abadox

I think it might be abadox...i'll check into it later. Thanks man!

Nope, not Abadox...

This game was really dark, and you had full control over your ship, so the screen didn't scroll to the side like a gradius game. It was almost more like a space ship trying to pull off Zelda style puzzles and dungeons...

I've been sitting here for the last hour trying to think of whatever it is your looking for and I still haven't a clue as to what game you are referring to
