Rockman Zero ROM - Posted by Slash at 6:41
Even though it doesn't release in Japan until the 26th, a ROM of Rockman Zero has started to trickle onto the Internet. There is some news on it in the Forum, but please don't ask us where you can find it. Anyhow, having played Rockman Zero for a short while now, I believe that this is going to be one awesome Megaman game. Here's some observations about the first ten minutes...

- The gameplay is faster than in the X games. Enemies have a tendency to flood in from multiple directions and take only a few hits to destroy. There is a distinctive "arcade" feel to the game.

- The music rocks. When Shel awakens Zero, Zero's theme from X1 plays loud and clear and serves as the backdrop for the intro level.

- Thus far, the game seems to progress in a linear fashion with "missions" in between story segments (sort of like in the Legends series). There is a home base that Zero can get to after defeating the first boss. There are also doors in the game. You use the Up button to go through them, and also to activate certain machines.

- There is gore (not bucketfuls of it, but realistic amounts). And there are also voices for certain key events.

- The game makes a subtle use of Mode 7-type graphics, and it also uses static anime cutscenes, just like X6. No surprise there.

Learn Math with Megaman - Posted by Slash at 5:49

Two Rockman games have surfaced out of China that involve learning math and memory skills with Megaman. Rockman's IQ Challenge (http://www.chinesesoftware.com/cgi-local/shop.pl/page=children_math.htm/SID=1926719985700) andRockman DASH: To Save the World Adventure (http://www.chinesesoftware.com/cgi-local/shop.pl/page=children_games.htm/SID=1926719985700) are two titles that promise to challenge the mind and teach kids how to think. Of course, they are in Chinese. And this is also the first time we've ever heard of them, so their legitimacy is questionable at this point. News credit: Inferno999

and that is all i have to say at this point. :kawaii:
