Digital cameras...

I'm in the market for a digital camera, preferably one in the $300-$400 range (I'm expecting some money from Uncle Sam...). Anyone have any suggestions, recommendations, or stories about past camera experiences that you'd care to share with me?

I personally like Sony Mavica. I own a MVC-FD91, it was $999 when I bought it three years ago. You can get new models from $300 to $700. Here is a good one from BestBuy (http://www.bestbuy.com/detail.asp?e=11101240&m=82&cat=83&scat=84). I like being able to store pics on a floppy.

Nikon and Olympus made some really nice digitals, and they actually feel like real cameras (ie they're heavy and feel sturdy) My Dad's looking to buy a good digital cause he a photographer, and he really wants one that feels like a real camera, and not plastic-like. The one he has his eyes on is a couple grand though.

When I make some money this summer I'm gonna buy myself a nice digital in the $500-$600 range
