Penny Arcade (http://www.penny-arcade.com) linked to Game Warlords (http://www.gamewarlords.com).
www.gamewarlords.com
Its basically a small gaming company working on some 2-D sprite based games. The first two games they made are freeware, which they used to advertise and generate traffic. They also have a big zip file of royalty free sprites that I'm going to download. The two freeware games they have look interesting, but I dunno if I can play them since they run just over my comp requirements (I have a PII 350mhz 4mb video card). The games were also made Freeware because they had disagreements with the Publishers and they decided to just make them Freeware and Publish for themselves.
It almost reminds me of a older, and more serious Armageddon Games, if you understand what I mean. I find stuff like this interesting because its exactly what I plan to do for a living.

Don't download the Super Sprite pack. All the sprites are in a proprietary format for a game creator program.
