DO NOT SAVE OVER OLD QUESTS WITH THIS VERSION! THERE IS A VERY GOOD POSSIBILITY THAT YOU WILL CORRUPT SOMETHING! BETA 156 MIGHT NOT READ QUESTS FROM THIS BETA! USE BETA 152 INSTEAD!

What's new in this version (make sure you get the beta 154 NewDefault patch as well):

1. Fixed a bug with the first 5 combos being blank if you started a new quest. This stemmed from a much larger bug that I'm surprised didn't show up somewhere else. :shrug:

2. Fixed the bug where screen flags from older quests didn't transfer.

In case you missed beta 154, we are now testing combo page-lessness. Check the beta 154 topic for more details.

I'm sure that the bug that previously was corrupting quests that had exactly 256 combos is still around. I think it's a roaming bug, though, so something else may trigger it now. You might want to turn on the auto-backup feature.

I've got a bug! If you use the commands to draw the tiles in chunks (draw 4x2 for instance) on any combos beyond the first page, you instead get combo #4 in all the spaces. They show up fine however if you draw them one at a time.

And I've got a bug, too: combo swapping doesn't want to work right between pages.

Normally, all places on the map where you swapped combos would be changed to reflect the correct combos; however, if you try it with combos that are on different combo pages, you get combo #0 in all the supposed-to-be-swapped spots on the map.

Sword "beams" aren't working. They worked in beta 153, but now the sword won't shoot anything when the hearts are full. It does this in every quest I've checked including 1st.

Not sure if this was mentioned yet, but in the Combo editing screen under the Quest menu(which I'd still find useful reorganizing combos to better fit the pageless feature), all pages 4 and beyond are blank(all black squares) although clicking on them will show in the combo info at bottom the combo's graphics. I checked this Newfirst and the quest I beta test with. It also happens with a default quest when you load ZQuest.

Beta 155 quests will not read 155 quests? That sounds like a nasty bug, you might want to fix that in the next beta. ;)

Fixed the typo. Hey, I noticed this typo and the "Zelda Classic 1.93 Windows Beta 152", too, but I didn't say anything.

When I first load ZQuest (windows) or create a new quest, the first 6 combos appear as red "invalid" squares until I move away and return to this screen. (as in, opening some other zquest window, like the tiles screen)

Actually, it seems only going to the tiles screen corrects this problem. Must be something to do with initializing the quest data. here's the screenshot:

I had that problem with DOS Zquest in 152...

It is our duty to report and bugs/errors that are in Zelda Classic..and this forum is related to it.
