View Full Version : This may sound like a stupid question, but...

I haven't been around here for a while, so I was just wondering, was there ever a public release of the 1.92 beta in which the Octoroks animated correctly? I've got the beta 104 and they don't move at all.

I was wondering because I'm using the new features (magic, more DMaps and tiles, etc.) to improve my Sonic the Hedgehog quest, and the non-moving Octorok creatures look quite bizarre.

I'd join the contest to get the newer beta, but I don't think I could deal with a specified deadline and my quest would probably be disqualified because it's basically a 1st quest remake with a lot of new features.

Strider: the correct answer to your question, basically, is "yes".

However, there has been no public ZQUEST release; the next closest thing is a topic by Darth Cronic with the ZC player for beta 139. This should, I'm told, also include the necessary support archive.

DN is planning to release a new public beta when he makes a reasonably stable one.

They animate okay in 148, but I couldn't help but notice that when you use the new enemy tiles, some other enemies animate much too quickly, like the Stalfos, Darknuts, and some others.:eyebrow:

That's because before, it was:

1122

Now it's:

1234

Essentially, 4 tiles for the speed of 2. That's why everything is so fast.

You shouldn't have to worry about it, just build your quest like normal and it will turn out fine when the next public version is released.
