You may have also missed the April Fool's jokes that took place on April 1st. I think it was worst day in AGN history for a while, seeing as how people got intensely angry and beligerant over Zaphod's fake banning, and others upset over all these gaming site pranks, one example being a report that Square would port FFVII to the GBA.

Penny Arcade even goes so far as to call April Fools a "holiday invented for Shitheads".
