*takes a few deep breaths:angry:
Every time I run install.php, it throws a 500 Internal Server Error at me.
Now....I have done the following.
1. Uploaded the files properly.
2. Changed the directory permissions properly.
3. Shouted a great many curses.

Is there something I'm missing?

I'm assuming it's pirated because why on earth would you be asking here? If you did infact purchase the vB software, they do offer technical assistance in installing and maintaining your vB.

It's pirated. When I saw the price tag, I felt like having a stroke.

Can't help you there, I've never installed a vB board before. But even though your copy's not legit, you could still ask for tech support at their board (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/index.php) and pretend. ;)

Well, I know my host is a bitch about php files by using other PHP scripts, and what I had to do to get that 500 error to go away from my script was add something like !location/to/php/directory or however you say it to every file that is called up directly by the browser.
