Does anybody know if there's any secret with the empty caves on top of the Maku tree? There's three of them with a pond in the middle, and four bushes that give you various seeds if you slash them. It seems odd that Nintendo would put a bunch of rooms with no point.

I'm not sure, but I think that as you complete dungeons, the rooms are filled. You could check Gamefaqs (http://www.gamefaqs.com) to be sure.

EDIT: Okay, I took my own advice and found it at Gamefaqs:

Secrets of the Maku Tree
------------------------
Retrieve the Eternal Spirit to open the upper-right bush on the middle of the
top of the Maku Tree.

Retrieve the Ancient Wood to open the lower-left bush on the middle of the
top of the Maku Tree.

Retrieve the Echoing Howl to open the bush on the right of the top of the
Maku Tree.

Retrieve the Sacred Soil to open the bush on the left of the top of the Maku
Tree.

Is that what you wanted to know?

Well it's nice to know what makes them open up, but why do they open? In Seasons, there's a couple that have loose fairies in them, but in Ages, they're just empty except for four bushes/grass clumps. :eyebrow:

Okay, I checked my Ages file.

Retrieve the Eternal Spirit to open the upper-right bush on the middle of the
top of the Maku Tree.

This one has a Healing Fairy in it.

Retrieve the Ancient Wood to open the lower-left bush on the middle of the
top of the Maku Tree.

This one has four bushes with ember seeds in them.

Retrieve the Echoing Howl to open the bush on the right of the top of the
Maku Tree.

This one has four bushes, 2 with scent seeds, and 2 with mystery seeds.

Retrieve the Sacred Soil to open the bush on the left of the top of the Maku
Tree.

This one has four bushes, 2 with pegasus seeds, and 2 with gale seeds.

Is that better? ;)

Raichu, I believe they are there so you can have a "seed refill" station. I don't really use them, but when I am in the area and I don't have anything better to do, I'll restock.

Itschris: Yeah, if it doesn't say anything else about them, then I guess that's all that is in them. I had noticed that they all gave seeds (except the one with the fairy).

I'm getting the feeling that that's correct Sir Anthony, since all that is there is bushes with seeds and some water. But the water seems strange, and the fact that there is fairy music seems to add to that. (Like there might be more to the room than meets the eye.)
