I use it. It is so much more stable than windows(even XP).
And I've gotten quite a few windows programs to work in Linux. I just need to get WinX to play Windows games like Zelda Classic and Starcraft. I use Mandrake 8.2 and I love it.

I'm running and have been running for the past month (Windows free :D) Mandrake 8.1! I love it!

I mainly use KDE desktop, but for remote access, and when I want some additional speed, I use IceWM <-- very awesome, super fast, and customizable!

Hey Menohk, how does 8.2 compare to 8.1? I heard they fixed alot. I think I'm gonna buy the store version to get the extra goodies. btw, KDE 3.0 came out, and I heard it's faster and alot better!

Oh, gdorf. excellent choice :thumbsup: After I 'switched', I can't imagine how I ever used Windows. I like Linux soooo much better! If you need any help or advice, or just the names and links of some cool progs, let me know! :)

I've got me Libranet Linux and it runs all day long every day.

16:00:44 up 1 day, 4:39, 4 users, load average: 0.09, 0.06, 0.01

We've been doing a lot of work on the system though. If things settle out, it'll probably go back to being up for four months or more straight.

8.2 seems a little faster to me. It was a tad finicky with my graphics card, but adding the line


"Load GLX"

to a config file fixed it.

And as for KDE 3, I am thinking of upgrading to it; that is after I get WineX.
