This one takes place after Zelda 2.

-Story-
With the curse on Princess Zelda released and the Triforce returned. It seemed that peace was at last coming to Hyrule...

But.. Many years afterwards, something strange happened to land mass of hyrule. The forests began to grow more trees than usual, blocking off many trade routes, mountains and earthquakes were more common, creating underground tunnels, and lava. In the most northern regions, ice and snow froze at low peaks and hieghts. And water was more abundant, causing floods.

Mysteriously enough, in the middle of all this, each area of growth had a temple. Strangely, the Temples were never affected by this continuing change. Link, the brave warrior who had saved Hyrule and the Princess twice before, decided to explore the temple in the forest...little did he realize, he was about to undergo another adventure.

Features:

The Spainard

Beginning of Darkness was a fun quest. It took me 5 hours and 6 lives to finish it. I love the fact that it wasn't to freaking hard. I like to explore the landscape searching for the items/weapons. The enemies were challenging but not impossible. I was playing James Quest and just got too frustrated. I am just on level 4 and I have died 89 times!!!!!! Anyway well put together quest. Just a few questions: 1)In the overworld there is a wall with a crack that I can't bomb through or do anything with. The Lense of Truth shows it to be a cave. 2)I explored the whole map except 2 screens by level 1. How do you get there? 3)Lastly it seems there are items I did not get. There was about 4 open spots. Did I miss something?
Thank you.......

I'll try to answer something for Spainard (got it this time!) here.

I myself was wondering the exact same thing about those two remaining spots, and have determined through wandering around that I can't get to them. I'm going to take a better look in the future; until then, I'm going to leave nothing but a forest of trees in those two screens on the map (you'll see if I decide to upload it 2nite).

[Edit, 04/04/2001, 15:26 EST] I have a funny inkling it's reached by a stairway somewhere...are you sure you checked every screen for secrets? If you find something missing, grab your candle, whistle, or Bombs...you might be surprised what you get. I know I was shocked when I found a single boundary tree in The Revenge to be burnable, to go find the Magic Key. I didn't even find this until I was headed for Level 9 (the screen is one of the "inaccessible" screens, until then)...but you can reach it starting before Level 4. (It's in Level 7. *LOL*) And it took a momentary glance at the map to figure out the secret. [End Edit]

I don't know about the other items, as I have thus far not gone further than Level 2. I'll be looking for Level 3 2nite; I already found it while creating most of the Overworld map, so I just have to play it now. (And then find Level 4, etc. *LOL*)

But I found a very strange bug, right at the start of the game. After going through the wooden sword area (H4-H6), you appear (from the Stairs) in square H1. You go back to the Stairs in H1...and you emerge in the entrance to the Whithering Tree Temple, in H3? What the hell?

I know what you mean. But if someone were to be wandering around, forgetting where he or she was, and used those stairs...I can imagine the confusion when the person suddenly surfaces in the temple entrance. *LOL*

No biggie...but might be a good idea to fix it, for those who get the quest in the future. ^_^

I like that idea. Then you can use the two seemingly empty squares...those being G2 and H2. Even add a small pathway where a line of trees currently sits in the screen where the temple sits, then go from there to the two empty squares.

It sounds good to me. If you want me to try bugging it up, let me know when you have it done. http://forums.armageddongames.com/html/smilies/smile.gif
