I downloaded your formerly 3rd Quest submission-turned-4th Quest submission. You know, the one you were SO proud of.

Well, it's pretty cool, but it's WAY too hard to be actually fun. People like exploring and solving puzzles more than getting their asses chopped up in a blender and smeared around the room.

I'm speaking mainly about the third and fourth levels. Level one was difficult, but possible--it was a good challenge. I did feel frustrated and exasperated when attempting level two. It was fun as well, but I died a LOT of times. But when I tried out level three, I wanted to kill something.

You put several difficult rooms in a row, and they're filled with vires and zols. In fact, once you've killed the wizzrobes in the third room or so (a daunting task in itself), there are NO enemies which are even capable of leaving a heart or fairy. In addition, the zols and vires keep coming back, even in rooms with bubbles and traps, because the white sword is unavailable. Eventually I gave up--about thirty or forty deaths later.

I found level four (and now I've lost it again--could you remind me? Thx) and thought I'd give it a shot. My path was somewhat limited, as I needed the stepladder to progress through some of the rooms, so I pretty much had to follow the same route over and over. Fortunately, this level provided plenty of enemies to get life from. I was frequently able to get my way back to full hearts, but then came the God-awful gauntlet of rope 2's, stalfos 2's, and...well, I can't remember what else, but it was all accompanied by six fire-breathing statues and shutter doors. I would always just barely scrape by at best when I finished that room, and then there was a F***ING FOUR-HEADED GLEEOK W/ CORNER TRAPS!! WTF??? I ask you, in all honesty, are YOU, Glenn the Great, personally capable of completing this room? And please don't give me any of that "if you were are REAL good player you'd be able to do it" crap. There's just too much going on at once to be able to keep track of a bunch of heads flying around AND their fireballs AND the traps. To make matters worse, I could only get a total of eight heart containers, no white sword (as was mentioned before), and no blue ring!

Okay, that's my tirade. I'm sure you have good reasons behind all of these terrible grievances, and I'd like to hear your reply.

I'm not Glenn but perhaps I can shed some light. This quest was meant to be extremely hard. I was amazed at the difficulty. And I have gotten past that room(too bad I later got one of those corrupted save file errors ), and let me tell you it was making me want to destroy my monitor. Perhaps Glenn can give you some tips.

The only levels that I expect should give trouble to an expert are Levels 3, 7, 8, and 9. Levels 1 and 2 are tough but beatable. Level 3 is incredibly hard, but once you get the stepladder, you have access to the White Sword (very easy to find) and to the Blue Ring (along the river where the 2nd Level 8 was.) Once you have the white sword and blue ring, levels 4, 5, and 6 are pieces of cake; all involving weaker enemies. Hopefully by Level 7 you might have the Magic Sword, and the Red Ring is hidden in Level 7. I've beaten my own quest. It isn't easy, but it is beatable when you have found enough secret items.

Ah, so then I assume the stepladder is in level three? Okay, thank you very much. I was about ready to put that quest on a floppy and destroy it in the most violent way I could imagine.

Also, where is level four? I've completely forgotten.

Level 4 is one screen to the left of the starting screen. You have to push a boulder to reveal the staircase.

That's all well and fine...what I need is the letter, burned and bombed everywhere to no avail and even Level 2 is quite difficult (so I am finding) without a potion.....any ideas on where it is???

Thanx

Tani, Tani...why didn't you just start a new topic? There are people here who disapprove of the bumping of aged topics...I can understand why...

Don't bother, now. In fact, I kinda enjoyed reading the post. I am actually tempted to correct the crying smiley.

Yeah I'm a twit at the moment with a stick (the wooden sword) looking for the letter because I am having trouble and sick of dieing in the 2nd and 3rd levels......HELP!!!!....any clues???
I've done quite a few quests of late.....all of Alphadawgs quests (great ones too) TSA's 4th quest (hard but good) and Hoppers quest (great fun!, love the caves and extra's) You'd think I'd be able to do this one and work it out. So bare with me at the moment in the forums as I am new and sorry for making an old thread active.....but I'M desperate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thanks

The twit with a stick and no protection (no blue ring either..grrrrrrrrrr)

Tani, try burning a tree in the forest maze. Otherwise, you will never get through level 3.
