Yeah...

___________

something like that should be below where the song's words and notation are. Each LINE is like the string on your guitar, the bottom is the 1st string, top is the 6th.

Now, a "0" on a line means that you're going to just strike that string with no tab.

I.E.

-----0---
---------
---------
-0-------
---------
---------
You'd strike the 3rd string, then the 6th string.

A number on the line means you hold that tabs down, lie:

--1----------
----3--------
------4----7-
-2------5----
------------9
-------------

So you hit the 3rd string 2nd tab first, then 6th string holding the 1st tab, etc...

And then there are multiple tabs

---7------
---5------
------7---
------5---
---------10
---------9

You hit the 6th string 7th tab and the 5th string 5th tab at the same time. Must "multiple" tabs you take your pointer and index finger and split them like spock to play 2 tabs at once, with the middle finger free to hit any other tabs and the pinky to pick at further off notes. Ozzy and Black Sabbath tunes use this the most, and are the hardest to execute.

Try starting with easier things...probably "The Unforgiven", "Iron Man", and some KISS songs are good starters.

Music sheets? Like sheet music with guitar? Good luck. Only tabs on the net. Sheet music is hard to find. :)

www.harmony-central.com (http://www.harmony-central.com) hosts the OLGA. Online Guitar Archive. It used to be the biggest guitar tab archive around, but it was closed for legal complications. IT's all still there, but rarely is new stuff posted. (although lately i've noticed a lot of people have been able to sneak stuff on there) :P

damn right! tabs suck, they automatically force you to use sertain fingers in sertain posissions, while mostly it's just a chord. Although tabs can do a bit more than chords ofcourse, I still think they suck.

Anyway, just check out www.olga.net (no, it's not sex), it's the online guitar archives, lots of tabs and chords, even for bass I think.

Get used to 'em .
They'll probably replace sheet music soon, and the quality of music will decrease, because the new musicians will have grown up on tabs and wouldn't have gotten their full potential.
Except me, of course.

Musicians growing up on tabs? No wonder all the new music sucks ass. Go back to sheet music, tabs are just lazyness.

I mean, if you think about it, most all music sounds the same nowadays (except for some rare gems, like SOAD) because they all grew up the same.
Myself, II use tabs occasionally, mostly if can't find the midi for it...
