The VG Awards Show

I think since video games are turning more and more into serious production entities, (Onimusha anyone?) I think it's time we had our own awards show that gave awards for video games throughout the year. I think Video Games are alot tougher to make than a movie. What do you think?

I agree with you! Last day at the discovery channel they told how they make and test n64 games. I was like whoa. A game can take up to 3 years to make , and the crowd is huge.
Plus, they way they debug the game is kinda funny. They give the characters stange names: hpwf, fwhfw, 12345, fefeou to test the letters and see it will will bug. They go everywhere in the game, even place you never tought you could step on ^_^ , and the testers job is hard, trust me, seems fun eh. But when they find a bug, it can mean re-program a lot of stuff.
So yes, I think an award is a good idea, and our own would be cool. But also a TV Award too, game producer works so hard ^_^

Anyway, it played last day @6pm east, and since discovry does a lot or *Replay* you might wanna take a lot at 6pm toonight!
If it ever plays , I tell you.

There's nothing wrong with Pryme8's digging up this topic since he made an adequate response to it. However, its doubtful he would have ever gotten much of a response from it, considering its old, it never had many responses to begin with(that I know of, this thing was posted a day or so before I returned from a two week hiatus) and the people who did post may not be interested anymore.

Except the first AGN awards were held before JJ was even a member of AGN...

Regardless, I don't know what happened to the rest of this thread, but I do know there was a lot more to it. JJ went into detail in his next post pointing out the difference between this and the AGN awards.

Anyways... I'm just messin' w/u. It was a good idea at the time though.

I'm pretty sure JJ started this after the AGN awards cuz he wanted "general" awards for crap because the "official" awards handed out by web sites sucked ass.
